Recall Roundup: Nissan Versa Note Subject of Two Recalls

8/5/2013
Last week, the only recalls issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for passenger vehicles pertained to the new 2014 Nissan Versa Note, a sub-compact 5-door hatchback that is among the automaker's most affordable vehicles.

The first recall, NHTSA campaign number 13V324, affects 7,707 vehicles built between April 23, 2013, and July 3, 2013. In these Versa Notes, the lower body sill bolts may be improperly torqued or may be missing altogether. This could affect the car's integrity in a rear-impact collision, increasing the risk of injury.

The second recall, NHTSA campaign number 13V326, impacts 7,782 vehicles built between April 23, 2013, and July 5, 2013. In these Versa Notes, the rear-seat latch bolts may have been improperly manufactured, reducing their strength. If the bolts were to break in a crash, rear-seat occupants would face an increased risk of injury.

Starting on August 12, 2013, Nissan dealers will remedy each recall at no charge to the customer. Owners with questions can call Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
