707-Horsepower 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Announced

The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will be the world's only 4-door muscle car, and the world's most powerful sedan, according to Dodge. It will also be the quickest and fastest vehicle of its kind, thanks to a supercharged engine and a variety of performance cues included in the design.
The new Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat features a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi Hellcat V-8 engine that produces 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque--the most powerful V-8 parent automaker Chrysler has ever produced. The high-performance engine helps the Charger SRT Hellcat to travel the quarter-mile in 11.0 seconds, go from 0 to 100 mph in less than 13 seconds, and hit a top speed of 204 mph, Dodge says. The SRT Hellcat will feature a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission and 15.4-in. Brembo 2-piece rotors (the largest brakes ever offered on a Chrysler Group vehicle) with 6-piston calipers. The forged aluminum wheels measure 20 in. by 9.5 in. and carry Pirelli P Zero performance tires.
"For the last eight years, a large part of the Dodge Charger's successful formula has been its many personalities. It's a muscle car, a performance sedan, a family capable sedan; its success is that it can be any or all of those things, depending on how the customer chooses to equip their car," said Tim Kuniskis, president and CEO of Dodge and SRT Brands.
The new Drive Modes feature allows owners to customize their driving experience. Horsepower, transmission shift speeds, traction, and suspension all can be controlled by the driver, and manual transmission is provided via paddle shifters. The vehicle comes with a red key fob that unlocks the engine's full power, while a black key fob ensures a slightly tamer experience for guest drivers. The Valet Mode, activated with a PIN code, further reduces the vehicle's ferocity.
On the inside, the Charger Hellcat features a distinctive 3-spoke, flat-bottom steering wheel, 7-in. reconfigurable digital gauge cluster, 8.4-in. touch screen, Nappa leather and Alcantara suede seating, other premium materials, and a choice of four new trim and color combinations.
The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat's other high-tech features include the available Uconnect Access system, Uconnect Access Services with roadside assistance, theft-alarm notification, voice texting, 3-D navigation, and the ability to turn the vehicle into a Wi-Fi hotspot.
The 2015 Dodge Charger draws its styling cues from the 1969 model, part of the second generation of Chargers, which established the model as one of America's best-known sports cars. The fastback design features a new front fascia that the maker calls "sinister looking," plus a stylish new hood, rear fascia, and spoiler. An integrated front splitter optimizes airflow to the cooling modules. Also notable are the signature "racetrack" LED taillights, which provide a continuous glowing ribbon of light, adding to the impression of speed and power.
The 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will be available in the first quarter of 2015. Pricing has not been announced.
