U.S. Fashion Designers Style Two Infiniti Q50 Models for Online Sales Event

Nissan's premium Infiniti brand has teamed up with U.S. fashion-oriented online shopping site Gilt.com to offer two Limited Edition 2014 Q50 sport sedans that have been personalized and styled by two well-known American fashion designers.

The special-edition cars will be sold online by the shopping site Gilt.com in December of this year and the two lucky buyers will also each receive $10,000 in credit on Gilt.com and a styling consultation. A portion of proceeds from each sale will go to the designers' selected charity St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

American designers Zac Posen, who has created gowns for stars such as Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé, and Thom Browne, who has his own fashion house and now works for the Ralph Lauren Collection, each will style a limited-edition vehicle that will be sold at www.gilt.com/InfinitiQ50 on December 12 at noon Eastern Time.

The Thom Browne Q50's exterior will have a chrome finish and interior features will include the designer's signature red, white, and blue stripe on seating and sterling silver details for sophisticated old-world ambiance, according to the Infiniti. Special luggage has been designed to fit in the trunk of this Q50 model.

Zac Posen's Q50 has a light silver matte finish exterior in the front that will blend into a dark gray high-gloss finish at the rear. Interior materials will include velvet and leather trim touches in shades of rich red.

The 2014 Infiniti Q50, which replaces Infiniti's most popular G-Series, will also include custom signature elements from each designer including a sterling silver personal card case from Thom Browne and a smartphone clutch designed by Posen. Each of these items also will be sold separately in limited quantities on Gilt.com.

During the months leading up to the December sale date, Infiniti plans to showcase the two Q50 models at five regional shopping events in Dallas, Chicago, New York, Miami, and Los Angeles for Gilt City members who attend the events to shop for other merchandise and accessories. As part of the tour, Infiniti will provide attendees with a chance to test drive or ride along in one of their vehicles, including the 2014 Q50.

Gilt.com, initially a small fashion-based website, was founded in 2007 by two Harvard Business School grads, who joined forces with Silicon Valley entrepreneur Kevin Ryan.
