Recall Roundup: Ford, Chrysler, GM Recall 1.25M Vehicles

2010-2014 Chrysler Town & Country
2010-2014 Dodge Grand Caravan
Chrysler Group is recalling 644,850 model-year 2010-2014 Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured August 25, 2010, through October 31, 2013. The affected vehicles may experience overheating of the vent window switch in the driver's door armrest. An overheated switch may result in a vehicle fire.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the vent window switch with a newer version, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in June 2014. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. 2013-2014 Ford C-Max
2013-2014 Ford Escape
Ford is recalling 594,785 model-year 2013-2014 C-Max and Escape vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the restraint control module (RCM) may have errors in the programming software which may result in a delayed deployment of the side curtain rollover air bag. In certain rollover circumstances, this could increase risk of injury to passengers.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the RCM, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 26, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S04; owners may also refer to NHTSA campaign ID number 14V237000.
2007-2008 Saturn Aura
GM is recalling 56,214 model-year 2007-2008 Saturn Aura vehicles manufactured April 24, 2006, through October 31, 2007, and equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission. In the affected vehicles, the transmission shift cable may fracture. If the cable fractures while the vehicle is being driven, the driver will not be able to shift the lever to the "Park" position, or remove the ignition key. If the vehicle is not in the "Park" position the vehicle could roll away as the driver and other occupants exit the vehicle or anytime thereafter.
GM will notify owners, and GM dealers will replace the shift cable assembly and mounting bracket, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule.
