2013 Honda CR-Z Priced from $20,675
The 2013 CR-Z's front styling is revised, a new rear diffuser panel is added, and the 16-inch aluminum wheels gain a new finish. The driver's side mirror offers an expanded-view mirror to help see in the left-side blind spot, LED running lights are optional, and Passion Berry Pearl and Polished Metal Metallic are new paint color choices.
Inside, the CR-Z receives new trim and an available 2-tone seat treatment in black and red. Bluetooth hands-free calling and music streaming is standard for 2013, and every CR-Z is equipped with a reversing camera. The CR-Z EX model's optional navigation system offers SMS text messaging capability and a Pandora Internet radio interface this year.
Under the hood, the CR-Z's Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid powertrain is more powerful, thanks to a new Lithium-ion battery pack. Combined peak horsepower now measures 130, and torque is 140 lb.-ft. (127 lb.-ft. for CVT models). A new Plus Sport System is available whether the CR-Z is in Econ, Normal or Sport modes, adding a 5-second electric boost in power for merging onto freeways or passing slower traffic.
Fuel-economy ratings increase, too. Models with the standard manual gearbox get one extra mile per gallon on the highway, while CVT-equipped CR-Zs add 1 mpg to their city rating.
The refreshed 2013 Honda CR-Z goes on sale on November 21, 2012, with a base price of $20,675, including the $790 destination charge. Standard and CR-Z EX models are available.
