New Mercedes SUV Gets 33 MPG, Priced Under $40,000
A turbocharged, 2.1-liter, clean diesel 4-cylinder engine is installed under the GLK250 BlueTec's hood, generating 200 horsepower at 3,800 rpm and 369 lb.-ft. of torque between 1,600 rpm and 1,800 rpm. A 7-speed automatic transmission with Eco and Sport driving modes delivers the power to all four wheels, and includes paddle shifters for manual control of gear changes.
Additional modifications to the 2013 Mercedes GLK range include revised exterior styling, a new interior with a redesigned dashboard, standard mBrace2 telematics technology, and standard 19-inch aluminum wheels. Buyers choosing the GLK250 BlueTec can spec out the SUV with numerous option packages with names including Premium, Multi-Media, Leather, Appearance, AMG Styling, Lighting, Lane Tracking, and Driver Assistance. Technology upgrades include mBrace, mBrace Plus, and Mercedes-Benz Apps. Additional upgrades include metallic paint, a premium sound system, panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, Keyless Go passive entry, Active Parking Assist, and trailer towing provisions to take advantage of the GLK250's 3,500-pound towing capacity.
Add every option to the 2013 GLK250 BlueTec, and the price tag rises to nearly $60,000. That doesn't include dealer-installed accessories, such as a rear-seat entertainment system, mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, iPad docking station, unique wheel selections, and more.
