The 2014 Scion tC is Restyled, Retuned, and Reformulated
Starting with the exterior, the 2014 tC is equipped with a redesigned hood, grille, headlights, and front fascia. Framing the large, trapezoidal grille, vertically oriented styling elements emulating brake ducts contain LED accent lighting. This design element is repeated at the rear, where simulated vents are actually outboard-mounted red reflectors. The 2014 tC is also equipped with new LED taillights and a new rear bumper with a trapezoidal diffuser panel insert. New Absolutely Red and Blue Streak Metallic paint colors debut, and redesigned 18-inch aluminum wheels with a dark-gray finish and machined surfaces complete the changes to the exterior.
The 2014 Scion tC also receives upgraded interior materials, including two-tone seat fabric and a contrast-color headliner. New standard equipment includes auto-off headlights, automatic one-touch operation for the driver window, and a new Scion Standard Display Audio touch-screen radio with a 6.1-inch display, Bluetooth connectivity, and HD Radio. As an option, the 2014 Scion tC can be equipped with a new Scion BeSpoke Premium Audio System with navigation, smartphone pairing, Aha Radio access to 30,000 stations, social media applications, and more.
The 2014 Scion tC's 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine delivers 179 horsepower, a single pony less than the 2013 model. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard equipment, and a 6-speed automatic transmission is optional. The automatic is updated for 2014, executing gear changes twice as fast as before, Scion says, and now equipped with Dynamic Rev Management technology. Additionally, Scion has improved the tC's handling by increasing body rigidity, recalibrating the suspension, and re-tuning the electric steering.
Scion says the restyled, retuned, and reformulated tC goes on sale in June of 2013.
