Chrysler Celebrates 30 Years of Minivanning with Special Edition Models

By: Jeff Youngs, 9/5/2013
In the three decades since Chrysler pioneered the modern minivan, the automaker has sold more than 13 million of the vehicles and developed what it claims are 78 segment innovations. To celebrate 30 years of building minivans, the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country and the 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan will be offered in 30th Anniversary Edition trim.

Buyers choosing the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country 30th Anniversary Edition receive equipment similar to the existing Touring-L trim level, plus special 17-inch aluminum wheels with polished faces and dark-painted pockets, seats with Alcantara inserts and premium leather bolsters, power-folding third-row seat, power-folding exterior mirrors, Super Center Console design, and unique cabin detailing including Piano Black trim and unique stitching. A Driver Convenience Group is also standard, including keyless passive entry with push-button start, heated steering wheel, and heated front and second-row seats. Granite Crystal paint is available in conjunction with this package, but isn't required. Buyers can choose from a wide range of exterior color choices.

The 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan 30th Anniversary Edition is based on the SE or SXT trim level. Applying the treatment to the SE adds special 17-inch aluminum wheels along with heated exterior mirrors, Piano Black interior trim, black cloth seats, black headliner, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, silver contrast stitching, and chrome vent trim. This version also gets Uconnect Bluetooth connectivity with streaming audio capability, satellite radio, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Choose the Grand Caravan SXT with the 30th Anniversary Edition package, and the van comes with automatic headlights, fog lights, extra chrome exterior trim, a 10-way power driver's seat, and seats equipped with suede inserts and leatherette bolsters.
