Ram Truck and Dodge Dart Appeal to Spanish Auto Media
The editorial board members from Ruedas ESPN, which is based in Miami, Florida, nominated the Chrysler Group's two models. There were 12 categories of entrants, which were judged by industry experts. Each winning model was selected based on price, design, value, performance, fuel economy, and appeal to Hispanic consumers.
Chrysler Group claims that the Dodge Dart is the best seller in the sedan segment during the 2012 calendar year. In addition to the two model-level awards, Chrysler Group was selected as Manufacturer of the Year by the panel of Hispanic auto experts. According to media reports, Chrysler Group has reached out to the Hispanic community with a new advertising campaign, How to Market Cars, that has been translated into Spanish.
The Ruedas ESPN awards were presented this week at the Miami Beach Convention Center as part of the 42nd edition of the Miami International Auto Show. More than 22.5% of Florida's population is of Hispanic or Latino origin. Only California has a larger Hispanic population, at 37.8%, according to the 2010 U.S. Census.
The show is broadcast live on ESPN Deportes Radio and airs on radio stations across the United States, as well as on SiriusXM Channel 149.
