Ford Puts Sporty Tremor F-150s on the Road this Fall

6/28/2013
This week, Ford announced that it will introduce a top-of-the-line sporty large pickup--the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor--this fall. The Tremor, which channels sporty performance, according to Ford, is a more fuel-efficient F-150 for on-road large truck enthusiasts.

The new sport-truck model is the first short-wheelbase, regular-cab F-150 powered by Ford's 3.5-liter, V-6 EcoBoost engine with twin turbochargers and direct fuel injection. The new V-6 Tremor offers V-8 performance with 365 horespower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. This truck is estimated to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 6 seconds. The Tremor has an electronic-locking rear differential that is standard on both the 2-wheel-drive and 4-wheel-drive models.

Tremor offers the stylish FX Appearance package that features what Ford calls "stealthy, flat-black accents" that include 20-inch flat-black wheels, stylized graphics on the truck body, and black badges with red lettering. The niche-market truck also includes functional features such as a floor shifter, class-exclusive HID headlamps, and a standard Sync with MyFord Touch connectivity system.

Other special features include a flow-through center console and bucket seats. Interior styling touches include black leather seating surfaces with red piping, brushed-metal accents, and a red-stitched steering wheel.

The Ford Tremor will be the 11th trim level in the best-selling truck's lineup. Pricing information will be revealed at a later date.
