2014 Nissan 370Z NISMO Gets Cosmetic Updates at Chicago Auto Show

2/12/2013
At the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, in addition to the debut of the new 2013 Nissan Juke NISMO, the automaker unveiled the 2014 370Z NISMO model, which receives minor cosmetic updates.

Perhaps most noticeable is the new dark-gray trim on the 370Z NISMO's lower body, side mirror caps, and rear spoiler, set off with new red exterior pinstripes. The 2014 370Z NISMO continues to be offered in Pearl White, Magnetic Black and Gun Metallic paint colors, while a new hue called Solid Red replaces the previous Magma Red.

Inside, the 2014 370Z NISMO is equipped with a new sport steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara and a red NISMO tachometer. Continuing from last year are black and red cloth upholstery, aluminum pedals, and a serialized plaque of authenticity.

The 2014 370Z NISMO's hardware package continues unchanged. That means a front midship-mounted 3.7-liter V-6 engine is installed under the long hood, generating 350 horsepower at 7,400 rpm and 276 lb.-ft. of torque at 5,200 rpm. A close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox is the only transmission offered, equipped with SynchroRev Match downshift rev matching for smoother driving.

Under the modified bodywork, the 2014 370Z NISMO is equipped with a performance-tuned suspension with a strut tower brace, performance-tuned brakes with red calipers and R35 Special II brake fluid, and an exclusive H-pipe exhaust system. The 370Z NISMO rides on Gun Metallic 19-inch forged aluminum wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S001 Y-rated high-performance tires sized P245/40ZR19 in front and P285/35ZR19 in the back.

"The 370Z NISMO, since its introduction as part of the original Nissan 350Z lineup, has embodied the spirit of NISMO--race-proven engineering that is attainable," said Pierre Loing, vice president, product and advanced planning and strategy, Nissan Americas.
