Scion Turns 10, Celebrates Birthday with Limited-Edition Scion 10 Series

4/8/2013
At the 2013 New York International Auto Show, Toyota announced a new lineup of Scion 10 Series limited-edition models to commemorate its first decade of selling affordable and unique vehicles to young buyers.

"The Scion 10 Series celebrates 10 years of the brand's passionate approach, iconic products and success inviting a new, younger buyer to the Toyota family," Doug Murtha, vice president, Scion division said. "Scion heads into its second decade revved up by a strong product line that continues to stand out on the road."

Each Scion 10 Series is painted Silver Ignition, a premium paint color, and is equipped with silver seat belts, solar-powered illuminated shift knob, and blue LED Scion badges that illuminate when the vehicle is unlocked using the remote fob. When the driver opens the door, the word "Scion" is illuminated on the dashboard before fading to the number 10.

The iQ, xB, and xD 10 Series models are equipped with unique graphite-finish aluminum wheels, while the FR-S and tC 10 Series variants wear their standard wheel designs. The FR-S 10 Series adds HID headlights, LED running lights, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a Smart Key passive entry system with push-button starting.

Scion will build a total of 10,000 of its new 10 Series vehicles across all models in its lineup. The limited-production cars go on sale in June 2013.
