Hertz Dream Cars Service Revs up for Renters
According to a report in Autoweek, rental fees for the exotic cars range from $395 per day for a relatively common vehicle such as a Porsche Boxster to as much as $1,500 per day for a high-end performance car like a Lamborghini Gallardo. Renters can drive the vehicle 75 miles. After that, an excess mileage charge kicks in, with the Porsche costing 49 cents per mile and the Lamborghini running $3 for each additional mile. The rental fee does not include insurance.
The Hertz Dream Car service also provides access to an Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe, Ferrari F430 Spyder, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, and a Nissan GT-R, as well as C63 AMG and E63 AMG models from Mercedes and several additional Porsche models. Autoweek reports that the new SRT Viper is joining the program, along with the Audi R8 and Bentley Continental GT.
If the prices for the Dream Cars program are too steep, Hertz offers the Adrenaline Collection to driving enthusiasts who want to experience a greater thrill than the mainstream automobile they might otherwise rent while on vacation. Models in the Adrenaline Collection can be driven an unlimited number of miles, and renters can purchase a Loss Damage Waiver for $40 per day.
Available nationwide, the Adrenaline Collection includes the Chevrolet Camaro SS, Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Challenger R/T, and Ford Mustang GT. As this article is written, the Corvette is the most expensive model, costing $150 per day. A new Hertz Penske GT--a Mustang GT with performance modifications from Penske Racing--is joining the lineup, and could cost just as much as the Corvette when it arrives wearing black paint and gold stripes.
