Small Number of Jaguar XF Models Recalled for Faulty Fuel Pumps

Jaguar has recalled 13 units of the 2013 XF sedan to install an additional wiring harness to the fuel pump, which is located inside the gas tank.

In these vehicles, all of which were built between October 3, 2012, and October 12, 2012, the electronic modules that control the fuel pump may stop operating, causing the fuel pump to stop pumping fuel. If the fuel pump stops pumping fuel, the engine will stall due to fuel starvation and the car will slow unexpectedly, and the driver will lose power assist for the steering and brakes. These conditions could increase the risk of a crash.

Jaguar expects dealers to start repairing the 13 affected vehicles on January 18, 2013. Concerned owners can contact Jaguar Land Rover at 1-800-452-4827, referencing Jaguar recall campaign number J028 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Campaign ID Number 12V571000.
