2014 Nissan GT-R Receives Performance and Interior Upgrades
Starting under the hood, the 2014 GT-R is equipped with new fuel injectors that Nissan claims will improve throttle response between 4,500 rpm and 6,000 rpm. An oil pan baffle is added to reduce rotational friction and stabilize oil pressure in high-performance driving conditions, and the name of the hand-built engine constructor's name is now affixed to the engine bay on an aluminum nameplate.
Suspension modifications include a new anti-roll bar that reduces the front roll-center height, while modified spring and shock specifications lower the center of gravity. Additionally, Nissan has relocated the front suspension link bush and improved front suspension alignment maintenance.
Inside, the 2014 GT-R Premium model's cabin is upgraded for a higher quality look and feel, while the GT-R Black Edition model's steering wheel is decorated with red accents. A new Premium Interior package is offered, including Red Amber semi-aniline leather with Red Amber accents on the steering wheel, shift knob, door panels, and dashboard.
"Comfort and a sense of luxury refinement are never out of place, even in a car with the ultra performance levels of GT-R," said Al Castignetti, vice president and general manager of the Nissan Division for Nissan North America, Inc. "The new Premium Interior package, which will be available in limited numbers, adds a great new look and really accents the high levels of craftsmanship found throughout each and every GT-R."
The 2014 Nissan GT-R goes on sale in January 2013.
