2013 Nissan NV200 Provides Maximum Space at Minimum Price
"For many years businesses have bought large vans simply because that's what was available. The 2013 Nissan NV200 offers a great new alternative--commercial quality vehicle that optimizes cargo space while offering the best possible fuel economy and an affordable price," said Joe Castelli, vice president, Nissan commercial vehicles and fleet.
Though the new 2013 Nissan NV200 is 4.5 feet shorter in length compared to the automaker's full-size NV2500 Cargo Van, it is 7.9 inches longer than the NV200 model sold in other parts of the world, the extended length designed to meet the requirements of American businesses.
Inside, the new Nissan compact cargo van can carry a standard 40 x 48-inch pallet, due to its 82.8 inches of cargo length, 54.8 inches cargo width (48 inches between the wheel wells), 53 inches of cargo height, and low cargo floor height of 19.5 inches. Total cargo capacity measures 122.7 cubic feet, and payload is estimated at 1,500 pounds by Nissan for the NV200 S model.
Nissan supplies integrated mounting points for interior racks and shelves right from the factory, and buyers of the NV200 SV model get tie-down hooks for the cargo floor. When loading the NV200, owners use 60/40 split-rear doors, with the shorter 40% side on the left side of the van so the door will not extend out into traffic when the van is parked alongside a city curb. Both rear doors offer 90-degree and 180-degree positioning when open, and can be optioned with dark-tinted privacy glass. Solid sliding side doors are provided on both sides of the van.
A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) drive the NV200's front wheels. The engine generates 131 horsepower and 139 lb.-ft. of torque, and is rated by the EPA to return 24 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. Electric steering, independent front and leaf spring rear suspension, front disc/rear drum anti-lock brakes with brake assist, and 15-inch steel wheels with P185/60R15 tires complete the mechanical package.
Two versions of the new 2013 Nissan NV200 will be offered. The S model includes side blind-spotter mirrors, power windows, stereo with a CD player and two speakers, 6-way manually adjustable driver seat, and a front passenger seat that folds in half to create a table or extend cargo load length. Additionally, the NV200 S is equipped with numerous in-cabin storage areas, 6 air bags, traction and stability control, and a tire-pressure-monitoring system. Upgrade to the 2013 Nissan NV200 SV model and the van is equipped with power heated exterior mirrors, power door locks, remote keyless entry, cruise control, and full wheel covers.
The new 2013 NV200 can be optioned with Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, rear door glass, and an Appearance package with body-color exterior trim and a chrome grille. A Technology package is also optional, including a reversing camera and NissanConnect technology with a navigation system and a hands-free text messaging assistant.
