Lotus Evora Recalled to Resolve Potential Fire Risk

10/18/2012
If you own a 2011 Lotus Evora built between February of 2011 and September of 2011, it may be heading back to the dealer to have its oil feed pipe replaced. A total of 80 examples of the sports car are affected.

The problem stems from a section of flexible hose that is part of the car's three-piece oil feed pipe. If this section ruptures, the engine will lose oil supply, and could be damaged. Additionally, hot oil could be sprayed upon hot engine components and catch fire.

Lotus will replace the oil feed pipe free of charge. Timing for the repair is not established as this recall report is written, but Lotus will notify affected owners directly. In the interim, Evora owners can contact Lotus at 1-800-245-6887 and reference National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall campaign ID number 12V477000.
