2014 Jaguar XFR-S Brings Extra Power and Performance to XF Lineup
The 2014 Jaguar XFR-S is equipped with a more powerful version of the current XFR's supercharged, 5.0-liter V-8 engine, one generating 550 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 502 lb.-ft. of torque between 2,500 rpm and 5,500 rpm. The engine breathes through a standard performance exhaust system, and transfers power to the rear wheels through an 8-speed "Quickshift" automatic transmission and an active electronic rear differential.
According to Jaguar, the modifications produce acceleration to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, a top speed of 186 mph, and a combined fuel-economy rating of 18 mpg.
In addition to upgrades under the hood, the 2014 XFR-S is equipped with a modified suspension providing 30% greater roll stiffness, recalibrated traction and stability control system, and lightweight 20-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in performance tires developed specifically for this model.
Exterior changes include a unique body kit that reduces aerodynamic lift by 68%, and which employs carbon fiber pieces including the front splitter and rear diffuser panel. Jaguar offers the XFR-S with an optional carbon fiber wing-type spoiler. Inside the cabin, the XFR-S has darker aluminum trim, front sport seats with suede inserts and leather bolsters, and a suede headliner. Piping and stitching can be specified in blue, red or ivory. Carbon fiber interior trim is optional.
The 2014 Jaguar XFR-S is equipped with everything except for a heated windshield as standard equipment. Highlights include a Thin Film Transistor (TFT) touch screen, navigation system, Meridian premium audio system, adaptive cruise control with Intelligent Emergency Brake, and a blind-spot monitoring system.
