Chrysler 200 S Special Edition--Hard Work and Perseverance

Last year, Chrysler partnered with Detroit-based apparel manufacturer Carhartt to create a line of official Imported from Detroit clothing that is made in the United States. Now, the two companies have collaborated on the 2013.5 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition Sedan, which is built in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

"The 2013.5 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition celebrates a never-say-die attitude and the value of hard work with a car unlike any other in the marketplace," said Saad Chehab, president and CEO--Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. "The 200 S Special Edition makes the statement that world-class quality and craftsmanship can be designed and developed in the Motor City and embraced by consumers everywhere."

It starts with a Chrysler 200 Limited equipped with a 283-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine and the S Appearance package, which has a base price of $26,270. To this, the S Special Edition adds a gloss black mesh grille with a floating winged Chrysler badge, platinum black and chrome exterior detailing, semi-gloss black 18-inch aluminum wheels, body-color side sill cladding and rear spoiler, polished exhaust tips, and unique badges.

Inside, Carhartt had a significant hand in making the new Chrysler 200 S Special Edition truly special. Black water-resistant Carhartt fabric seats with Diesel Gray triple stitching are the centerpieces of the 200 S Special Edition's interior. Matching exposed stitching is added to the steering wheel, armrests, and center console, and this model is equipped with black-painted accent trim.

"Our design teams were able to work collaboratively to reflect the heritage of both brands, first with the Imported From Detroit line of apparel and now with the Chrysler 200 S Special Edition," said Mark Valade, Carhartt CEO. "The vehicle is understated in its levels of sophistication which authentically mirrors our brand."

The new Chrysler 200 S Special Edition rolls under the lights at the 2013 New York International Auto Show, and will be priced at $29,865 including a $995 destination charge when it goes on sale shortly thereafter.
