2014 GMC Sierra Denali Debuts as Luxury Pickup Truck
Equipped with a standard 355-horsepower, 5.3-liter V-8 engine estimated to return up to 23 mpg on the highway, the new 2014 Sierra Denali is available with an optional 6.2-liter V-8 engine that GMC claims will deliver 420 horsepower and 450 lb.-ft. of torque. Maximum towing capacity for the Denali was not announced, but GMC does say the new 5.3-liter V-8 can tow up to 11,500 pounds when properly equipped, and that the new 6.2-liter V-8 can manage a trailer that weighs up to 12,000 pounds when it is installed in the right truck.
The new 2014 Sierra Denali is distinguished by its unique chrome grille and chrome 20-inch aluminum wheels, body-color bumpers with front and rear park-assist sensors, polished exhaust outlet, and projector-style headlights with LED running lights. Inside, the 2014 Sierra Denali features genuine aluminum trim, embossed leather seats, and doorsill plates that read "Denali." This luxury pickup truck is loaded with equipment, including an exclusive 8-inch configurable instrumentation display, 8-inch ColorTouch radio with IntelliLink connectivity and multi-media services, Bose premium audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, and more.
According to GMC, the only options for the new Sierra Denali are the stronger V-8 engine, 4-wheel drive (4WD), a power sunroof, rear-seat entertainment system, and a Driver Alert package containing forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, and Safety Alert Seat technologies. Additionally, Denali models with 4WD can be upgraded with a Z71 Off-Road package containing a hill-descent control system, modified suspension components, and an underbody skid plate.
The 2014 GMC Sierra Denali goes on sale in the fall of 2013. Pricing has not yet been announced.
