2014 Ford Mustang Details Drop for Final Year of Current-Gen Production

11/8/2012
Ford is widely expected to introduce a completely redesigned 2015 Ford Mustang, perhaps as early as April at the New York Auto Show. Auto historians and Mustang enthusiasts will recall that the Mustang originally debuted in April of 1964 at the World's Fair, in nearby Flushing Meadows, New York. Given the timing, then, it may come as no surprise that a 2014 Ford Mustang dealer order guide has been leaked onto the Internet.

According to the details contained in the guide, new shades of white and red debut for the current Mustang's final year, and a new Appearance package for 2014 Mustang Coupes adds black mirror caps, black rear spoiler, 18- or 19-inch black wheels, and louvers for the rear quarter windows. The Mustang V6 Premium models also have a revised 17-inch wheel design.

The 662-horsepower, 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 gains standard heated front seats, according to the guide. Also, the Ford Mustang Boss 302 is discontinued for the 2014 model year.

No details are available regarding when the 2014 Mustang goes on sale, but it won't roll into dealer showrooms until after January 1, 2013.
