2013 Mazda CX-9 is Restyled, Adds Safety Features

9/19/2012
The 2013 Mazda CX-9 officially debuts in October of 2012, but Mazda has released advance information about the 3-row, 7-passenger crossover SUV, which receives a mid-life refresh for the new model year.

Styling is modified front and rear, adopting the automaker's new "Kodo" design themes, as seen on the 2013 Mazda CX-5 and 2014 Mazda 6. Mazda also says that the interior gains "enhancements in craftsmanship and interior design (to) further the feeling of quality and refinement."

New safety technology is also offered on the restyled 2013 Mazda CX-9. Highlights include a forward obstruction warning system, lane-departure warning system, and a high beam control system. Additionally, the latest version of Mazda's in-dash, touch-screen information and entertainment system will be offered on the new 2013 Mazda CX-9.

Mazda plans no changes to the 2013 CX-9's powertrain, which means that its 273-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission will continue to deliver power to the crossover's front wheels. All-wheel drive is optional.

The updated 2013 Mazda CX-9 will officially debut on October 18 at the 2012 Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, and is expected to arrive in dealer showrooms shortly thereafter.
