The electric car is equipped with a 20 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack that can be recharged in 7 hours using a 240-volt power outlet, according to Chevrolet. Charging time will take longer with a standard household 120-volt electrical outlet.

Styling is modified on the outside, and includes LED running lights, LED taillights, and redesigned aluminum wheels. Inside, the crossover gets a new dashboard with a Thin Film Transistor gauge screen and a larger infotainment screen, with new optional connectivity, safety and comfort features. A new top-of-the-line Sorento SX Limited (SXL) trim level also debuts for 2014, with premium interior materials, xenon headlights, and 19-inch aluminum wheels.

When it goes on sale in the fall of 2013, the model will be offered in Paceman, turbocharged Paceman S, and all-wheel-drive Paceman ALL4 trim levels. Mini says it is also preparing a performance-tuned Paceman John Cooper Works model, to be introduced at a later date.

Mitsubishi says the new Outlander is lighter and more aerodynamic than the model it replaces, and depending on the trim selected, the Outlander can be equipped with new features such as adaptive cruise control, forward-collision mitigation system, and a lane-departure warning system.

Buyers can choose between ES, SE and GT trim levels, the latter equipped with a V-6 engine instead of the standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder power plant. A Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) all-wheel-drive system is standard on the GT trim.
